This super rare pattern $10 was struck in aluminum as a die trial. The purpose of which was to see how easily coinage could be struck in aluminum. This gem aluminum pattern has a rarity rating of 7. (meaning 7 to 12 coins estimated to exist in all grades) PCGS and NGC show this number to be on the high side with only 3 coins total graded by PCGS (2 in PF-65) and only 2 coin total graded by NGC. This coin being the only PF-65 and highest graded. Very rare and desirable.
